This Privacy Policy applies to RecipeFile and all related applications operated by Discovery Coaching, LLC (collectively, the "Services"). By using RecipeFile, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. This Policy works together with our Terms of Service.

1. What We Collect

Account information (email, name)
Recipe content: titles, ingredients, steps, tags, and any notes you add
Photos you upload of a recipe (to import from, or to keep with a recipe)
Voice-note transcripts from recipe import and cooking mode
URLs you submit for recipe import, and the page content fetched from them
Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps)
Technical data (IP address, browser type, device info)
Your RestartWorks subscription tier/status, if you have a linked RestartWorks account (see Section 4)

2. Your Photos and Voice Notes, Specifically

Photos you upload are stored on our servers. Unlike a voice recording, a recipe photo you upload (for import, or attached to a saved recipe) is saved as part of your account data, not discarded after processing.

Voice notes are different: when you use voice import or cooking-mode voice notes, your browser's built-in speech recognition converts your speech to text as you talk — this may send audio to your browser vendor's servers for processing (for example, Google, for Chrome). RecipeFile itself never receives or stores the raw audio; only the resulting text transcript is saved.

3. How We Use It

To provide and improve the Services, including sending photo, URL, and voice-transcript content to Anthropic's Claude API to extract and structure a recipe
To run guided cooking mode and save your voice notes and progress
To communicate with you (account updates, support)
To analyze usage and fix bugs
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude AI, including Claude Vision): recipe photos, fetched web page content, and voice transcripts are sent to Anthropic's API to extract and structure a recipe. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
Your browser's speech recognition provider (e.g., Google, for Chrome): processes your voice audio into text on our behalf — see Section 2.
Google and Microsoft: if you sign in using Google or Microsoft, we receive basic profile information (email, name) to create and authenticate your account. Their respective privacy policies apply.
RestartWorks (works.restart.coach): if you have a RestartWorks account, we make a secure, signed server-to-server request to look up your subscription tier and status, so paid RestartWorks features can unlock in RecipeFile without you paying twice.

5. Data Security and Breach

Data Security and Breach — Read Carefully: We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data transmitted between your device and the Services is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of your information.

No Liability for Data Breach: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you acknowledge and agree that Discovery Coaching, LLC, David Killion, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates (the "Released Parties") will not be liable for any unauthorized access to, acquisition of, disclosure of, alteration of, loss of, or use of your information resulting from any security incident, data breach, hacking, intrusion, system failure, or act of any third party, whether or not such event was foreseeable.

This section is in addition to, and does not limit, the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification provisions in our Terms of Service, which also apply to all information you provide.

6. Data Retention

We retain your recipes, photos, and notes as long as your account is active. You may delete individual recipes and their photos at any time from within the app, or request deletion of your entire account and its data by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at dave@thekillions.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

9. Children

The Services are not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
